PSCU Diversity, Equity & Inclusion

At PSCU, we cultivate a diverse, equitable and inclusive community where differences are embraced and treasured. Our culture is built on the foundation of treating everyone with respect and dignity, and we value diversity – of culture, of background, of perspective, of beliefs, of personality and thought – so, as one, we can achieve the greatest outcome.

“PSCU is built on inclusion and our belief that our employees are our greatest asset – not certain employees, but each and every one of us. We welcome wide-ranging perspectives and value diversity of thought here at PSCU because we know that innovative, forward-thinking ideas come from our passionate team members. Diversity is what makes our culture exceptional, and our inclusive environment serves as a model for how things should be.”

PSCU Business Resource Groups

Our Business Resource Groups (BRGs) provide an avenue for employees to share and to learn about a specific affinity. The BRGs offer the company guidance, education, communication and a celebration of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). More than 30% of PSCU’s workforce is actively involved in one of our BRGs.

Diversity: By the Numbers

PSCU is committed to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive work environment that reflects our incredibly diverse financial institutions and their accountholders. Just one way we measure the success of our DEI strategies is tracking the makeup of our employees over time. We know there is always more to do, but we use these quarterly diversity metrics to evaluate our progress and drive toward a more representative workforce.

Commitment to Change

DEI is about more than just responsibility. It is also about accountability, and it starts with each of us making a commitment to change and advancing diversity, equity and inclusion. We all have the power – through one word, one action or one story – to make a difference and influence positive change, and at PSCU, we are making strides to improve accountability as an organization through metrics, culture listening sessions and leadership accountability. We are creating a “racial justice” framework to move PSCU from a reactive posture to a more powerful, proactive and even preventive approach. We are also reviewing our talent ecosystem and talent processes for unconscious bias and inequity and then working with key stakeholders to close gaps, including inserting measurements to monitor positive progress.

Credit Union DEI Collective

The Credit Union Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Collective is an expanding group formed within the Credit Union Movement devoted to furthering DEI, a shared cooperative principle. The CU DEI Collective believes that diversity, equity and inclusion are fundamental to a vibrant, relevant and growing Credit Union Movement – and is good business. PSCU is proud to be a founding member of the DEI Collective, and our Chief Talent Officer, Lynn Heckler, serves as part of the governing body for this organization representing PSCU.
